Tell us about your early life, education, and what led you to start your business.
I was born in eastern Slovakia to my wonderful parents, Anna and Peter, who gave me everything, far more than I could ever ask for as a child, as a girl, and as a woman. My childhood in Slovakia was beautiful, especially the summers spent in the countryside with my grandparents, surrounded by nature in its purest and most authentic form.
My mother, a teacher, provided me with invaluable life lessons, while my father was incredibly supportive of my educational pursuits, both in Slovakia and in the United States. My parents instilled in me the core values, morals, principles, and highest virtues that I live by every single day, and will continue to until my last breath.
My beloved father passed away nearly five years ago, and not a moment goes by without me thinking of him. I feel his presence, and I know he is watching over me with every step I take.
I spent much of my life in Far East Asia, Japan, China, and in the Middle East. From a young age, around 13 or 14, I had a strong desire to see the world and learn English. With my parents’ support, I pursued the opportunity to become an exchange student in the United States, even though I was quite young. They trusted me and encouraged me, knowing how determined I was.
That experience in Washington State as a teenager marked the true beginning of my journey. While in high school, I was invited to perform in a theater production. The show was a huge success, and the next day the newspaper wrote that an exchange student from Slovakia stole the show and that a new star was born.
When I stepped onto that stage, I immediately knew it was my other self, part of my DNA. I wanted to dedicate my life to connecting with the audience, making people happy, and giving them emotions that left smiles on their faces. That moment awakened something incredible in me because such opportunities never existed in Slovakia. I realized that theater, film, and the power of human connection were extraordinary, and they fulfilled me deeply. The priceless joy of seeing smiles on people’s faces confirmed that this was my calling. It gave meaning to my life, and that is how my journey in theater and acting began.
I pursued higher education in Slovakia, earning a Master’s degree in Philosophy at Presov University. Later, I refined my craft at the New York Film Academy, specializing in acting for film. My commitment to continuous learning also led me to study at esteemed institutions in Los Angeles, including the Kimberly Jentzen Acting Studio, Elizabeth Mestnik Acting Studio, The Acting Corps, and Carolyne Barry Creative Enterprises.
Although I studied acting extensively, I eventually discovered a deeper passion for working behind the camera. Acting meant performing scripts written by others, and while rewarding, it left me yearning for a more authentic form of expression. The global lockdown became a turning point. Inspired by the stories of women around me, I felt compelled to listen and capture their experiences of coping during that crisis. That’s when I told myself: the crisis is here, but the greater tragedy would be failing to use it.
This led to the creation of my first film, which became my directorial debut and went on to win numerous awards. That experience solidified my belief that I had found my true calling. I had done something meaningful, something beautiful, and I knew I was on the right path.
The challenges women face in breaking into the male-dominated film industry have also fueled my determination. Female directors have the power to push boundaries, both creatively and in expanding opportunities for women in leadership roles. However, female directors remain significantly underrepresented worldwide, with data suggesting only about 11–14%. This imbalance is deeply disappointing and continues to motivate me to contribute my voice and vision.
What is your business and what makes it unique in the market?
The Palace Entertainment Group FZE is an international production house based in the UAE. At The Palace Entertainment Group FZE, we do not chase illusions. We stand firmly and unwaveringly in truth, pure, unfiltered, and grounded in human experience. We do not bend to fleeting trends, media agendas, or the pursuit of approval.
This is not a slogan; it is a promise.
As the founder, I carry this promise into every project we create. Our stories are not manufactured for applause, they are born from real people, their struggles, and their triumphs. There is no artificial gloss or distortion, only the essence of life, unmasked. In a world that often celebrates spectacle over substance, we choose integrity.
Where others may soften the truth for comfort, we believe in its power to heal, awaken, and liberate. We understand that truth can be raw, but it is also beautiful, sacred, and necessary. Even the most painful stories, we present with grace and elegance. For us, cinema is not just light and sound, it is memory, it is truth, and it is the bridge between the silent and the seen.

What is one key success or milestone your company has achieved?
The most rewarding part of filmmaking is witnessing how my work resonates with people, the ability to positively impact audiences and spark meaningful conversations. When someone tells me that a film I created changed their perspective or opened their eyes to an issue, that is the greatest reward.
When audiences leave the cinema in tears, whether of joy or deep emotional connection, it reaffirms the power of film. To evoke such profound emotions is truly remarkable. If my work can inspire, educate, bring hope, or even change lives for the better, then every effort is worthwhile. In today’s world, where smiles are becoming rare, helping people feel moved and uplifted is a goal worth pursuing.
The most valuable lesson I’ve learned is that patience and perseverance are everything. Filmmaking is a long and often challenging process, but the impact makes it worthwhile. Staying true to one’s vision and integrity is essential, even when difficulties arise.
As for milestones, my directorial debut Corona & The Jewels in 2020 received over 18 international film festival awards. My subsequent film, Destruction of the Crown, also earned multiple accolades. Our latest movie, Calling Hearts, has already won awards and continues to screen at international film festivals, marking ongoing success.
To date, I have received more than 37 global awards. I am immensely proud of myself and my team because filmmaking is not just my journey, it is with the people and for the people.
What are your future goals in filmmaking?
My deepest aspiration in filmmaking is not only to entertain but to illuminate, to reveal truth, stir empathy, and reflect the essence of being human. I want to create stories that honor dignity, explore the unseen, and remind us of our shared humanity across borders, beliefs, and experiences.
I believe storytelling is a sacred responsibility. Films can manipulate, yes, but they can also heal, awaken, and inspire. My goal is for my work to always be rooted in integrity, not spectacle for its own sake. Beauty matters, but truth matters more.
I aim to tell stories that speak for the forgotten, not just the celebrated. Stories of resilience, quiet strength, and ordinary people who accomplish extraordinary things. I want to elevate voices from underrepresented cultures and communities, especially those whose wisdom has been silenced by noise.
For me, no film is worth making if it costs someone their peace or dignity. I aspire to build creative environments where kindness is the true currency, and collaboration is a joy. My commitment is to never lose sight of why I started: not for applause, but to better understand life, ask the difficult questions, and offer hope.
I want my films to serve as bridges, not weapons, between generations, faiths, nations, and hearts. I want people to remember that, despite differences, we are not alone, we share the same sky, the same sun, and even cloudy days filled with tears.
My dream is to grow slowly but meaningfully. I would rather create one honest film that touches lives than pursue a hundred shallow successes. Ultimately, I hope my work leaves not just films behind, but feelings, courage, compassion, and the permission to dream. Above all, I want my storytelling to carry light into the darkness and help others feel seen, valued, and less afraid.
How do you stay competitive in your industry?
I would like to reframe the idea of “competition” in filmmaking. While film festivals involve awards, the creative process itself should not be treated like a race or mass production. For me, making movies is an intimate journey filled with truth, authenticity, and heart.
That said, staying relevant in the filmmaking industry, whether as an individual filmmaker or through The Palace Entertainment Group FZE, requires a balance of creativity, adaptability, and business strategy.
Authenticity is the strongest currency. Audiences crave fresh, diverse, and culturally rich stories. Telling truthful and original stories ensures that the work stands out. I believe in amplifying underrepresented voices and addressing themes with global relevance and emotional depth.
Global collaboration is another key. Partnering with international creatives allows for co-productions, broader funding opportunities, and wider distribution. Reflecting local cultures authentically while ensuring universal resonance is essential.
Innovation also plays a role. Embracing technologies like virtual production, VFX, and drones helps create immersive experiences. Sharing teasers, trailers, and behind-the-scenes content on digital platforms builds early audience engagement and community around each film.
Equally important is building genuine relationships within the industry. Attending festivals, networking, collaborating, and fostering strong ties with distributors and broadcasters are vital. Securing diverse funding through grants, commissions, and co-productions adds sustainability.
Above all, maintaining a strong brand identity is crucial. Every project must align with my company’s vision, values, and creative signature. Consistency in truth and integrity builds trust with both audiences and collaborators.
What advice would you give to aspiring filmmakers?
Aspiring filmmakers embark on an exciting yet competitive journey, but I believe the essence of filmmaking is the same for all of us, whether you’re directing your first short film or producing award-winning features.
My first piece of advice: simply start. Don’t wait for the perfect equipment, crew, or budget. Use what you have, even your phone. Write, shoot, edit, and tell the stories only you can tell. Your unique perspective is your greatest power. Authenticity will always stand out more than imitation.
Learn every role. Gain an understanding of writing, directing, cinematography, editing, and sound. This not only makes you more versatile but also builds respect and empathy for your team. Study scripts, analyze great films, and learn what resonates with audiences. Pair passion with practicality.
Networking is essential, but do it with sincerity. Build relationships by collaborating, volunteering on sets, and attending festivals and workshops. Helping others without expecting immediate returns builds goodwill and credibility.
Be resourceful. If you can’t afford a studio, film in a friend’s apartment. If you lack a crew, work with natural light. Limitations can spark creativity.
Patience and persistence are key. Filmmaking is not a sprint, it’s a marathon. Rejection will come, but it’s part of the process. Stay humble, yet never wait for permission to create.
Finally, always remember why you started. Protect your love for storytelling, because it will sustain you through challenges. Passion for the craft is the most important asset you will ever have.
