A Journey Shaped by Curiosity

Tell us about your background and journey so far.

When I look back on my career, I realize that my journey was never about following a perfectly mapped path. Instead, it has been shaped by curiosity, perseverance, and a deep belief that growth often comes from stepping into the unknown.

More than 25 years ago, I began my career in the corporate world with a strong desire to learn, contribute, and make an impact. Over time, that journey led me to work closely with a wide range of organizations, from large family-owned businesses to listed companies, helping them navigate complex funding challenges and secure the capital they needed to grow and evolve.

On the surface, the work was about structuring financial solutions and supporting business growth. But behind every transaction and every strategic decision were people, leaders making difficult calls, entrepreneurs carrying enormous responsibility, and teams striving to move their organizations forward in an increasingly complex world.

Being part of those journeys gave me a unique perspective on leadership. I saw firsthand how resilience, courage, and clarity of vision can shape not only businesses but also the lives of the people behind them.

Like many women building a career in environments where representation was limited, I often found myself in rooms where I had to work harder to ensure my voice was heard and my perspective valued. Those experiences were not always easy, but they became defining moments that helped shape the leader I would become.

Over time, I learned that leadership isn’t about having all the answers or holding a particular title. It’s about showing up with authenticity, trusting your voice, and having the courage to stand behind your ideas even when the path forward is uncertain.

Some of the most powerful lessons I learned during my corporate career had little to do with spreadsheets or financial models. They came from conversations with leaders navigating difficult decisions, from witnessing businesses overcome significant challenges, and from seeing how resilience and determination can drive remarkable transformation.

As the years progressed, I found myself increasingly drawn to mentoring and sharing these insights with others. Colleagues, emerging leaders, and entrepreneurs often sought advice that went beyond strategy and numbers. They wanted to talk about confidence, navigating change, and finding clarity in the midst of uncertainty.

What began as informal conversations gradually evolved into something more meaningful. I realized that many people, particularly women, were facing similar challenges when it came to stepping into leadership and believing in their own potential.

That realization sparked a new chapter in my journey.

Today, as an inspirational leadership keynote speaker, I share the lessons gathered from more than two decades in the corporate world and the personal experiences that shaped my perspective along the way. Our work at Reach4TheStars® is driven by a passion for helping people reconnect with their confidence, embrace their unique strengths, and lead with purpose.

I often share a simple but powerful belief: leadership is not reserved for a select few. It exists in the choices we make every day, how we show up, how we support others, and how we navigate challenges with resilience and integrity.

One of the most rewarding aspects of this work is witnessing the ripple effect that occurs when someone truly steps into their potential. When individuals find the courage to trust their voice and lead authentically, it inspires those around them to do the same.

Looking back, I now see that every chapter of my journey, every challenge, every complex deal and negotiation, and every moment of uncertainty, played a role in preparing me for the work I do today.

Those experiences taught me that growth rarely happens in comfort zones. It happens when we are willing to take risks, embrace change, and remain open to the lessons that each stage of life offers.

My story is still unfolding, but one thing has become clear: leadership is not simply about professional success. It’s about creating impact, empowering others, and leaving every room, every organization, and every conversation stronger than when we first entered it.

And if there is one message I hope to share with others, especially women navigating their own journeys, it is this: your voice matters, your story has power, and the path you create may inspire more people than you ever imagined.

Human-Centered Leadership

What makes your work or business unique?

What makes my work truly distinctive is the combination of lived corporate experience with human-focused leadership insight, applied to a wide range of professional and personal situations. Over more than 25 years, I’ve worked alongside business owners, executives, leadership teams, not-for-profits, and board members across organizations and geographies.

I’ve helped them navigate pivotal decisions in boardrooms and leadership settings that shape the future of their organizations. These experiences gave me a front-row view of how leaders think under pressure, how decisions are made in high-stakes environments, and how resilience, emotional intelligence, and clarity of purpose ultimately define outcomes.

What I discovered is that while strategy, structure, and operational plans are essential, the real differentiator in leadership is always the person behind the decisions. The ability to stay composed under pressure, make confident choices, and guide teams through uncertainty is what separates good leaders from exceptional ones.

These are lessons I now translate into actionable guidance for others, helping them navigate their own situations with insight and confidence.

What makes this work particularly distinctive is that it isn’t theoretical. I draw directly from lived experience, real decisions, boardroom discussions, high-stakes scenarios, and the human dynamics that accompany them.

By combining corporate expertise with human-centered leadership principles, I help individuals reconnect with their confidence, trust their voice, and step into opportunities that may initially feel daunting. It’s about creating the mindset and tools to lead not just effectively, but authentically.

Ultimately, my work is defined by the intersection of experience, perspective, and purpose. It’s about empowering people to lead with clarity, make impactful decisions, and create ripple effects that inspire teams, organizations, and communities.

By sharing what I’ve learned from navigating leadership in both corporate and not-for-profit settings, I help others realize that leadership isn’t just about titles or positions, it’s about influence, presence, and the courage to act decisively when it matters most.

A Defining Leadership Moment

Share one achievement you’re most proud of.

One of the achievements I’m most proud of comes from my time as Regional Chief Risk Officer overseas. I found myself in a high-stakes situation during a serious military threat, where every decision carried significant consequences.

I faced a personal and professional dilemma: should I return home to ensure my own safety, or stay on the ground to lead my team through the crisis?

I chose to stay.

Activating our Business Continuity Plan, I coordinated with multiple stakeholders, made real-time decisions under intense pressure, and worked to maintain both operational continuity and team morale.

The situation demanded not only technical expertise but also emotional resilience, clear communication, and the ability to make critical decisions with limited information. It was a moment where leadership was tested in its purest form.

What made this achievement particularly meaningful was seeing my team rise to the occasion. Despite the uncertainty and risk, they remained focused, composed, and committed to their responsibilities.

Knowing that my presence and guidance helped them navigate the threat safely, and that together we maintained the organization’s stability, was profoundly rewarding.

This moment taught me more than any report or strategy ever could. It reinforced that leadership isn’t about titles or authority, it’s about presence, courage, and helping others find their strength when the stakes are high.

It’s a lesson I carry with me in every decision and in every opportunity to support and empower others, both professionally and personally.

Leading Through Challenges

What challenges have you faced, and how did you overcome them?

Facing high-pressure situations with real consequences for teams and organizations is part of leadership, and navigating them requires careful preparation, calm decision-making, and steady, thoughtful leadership.

Over the years, I’ve learned how important clear communication, decisive action, and consistency are in keeping teams coordinated, resilient, and motivated, even in uncertainty.

These experiences have shaped my understanding of what true leadership looks like under pressure.

At Reach4TheStars®, we bring these lessons into everything we do. Our work focuses on helping people embrace uncertainty, make courageous decisions, and step confidently into opportunities that may initially feel daunting.

Challenges also come in many forms: navigating ambiguity, influencing decision-making in boardrooms, leading teams through change, and helping individuals overcome self-limiting beliefs.

In every case, success comes from combining practical experience with empathy, building trust, and helping people recognize their own leadership potential.

What we aim to share through Reach4TheStars® is that challenges are not simply obstacles, they are opportunities. Opportunities to lead with clarity, act with conviction, and inspire others to do the same.

Staying relevant comes from curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning.

The world of leadership, organizations, and human behavior is always evolving, and I make it a priority to stay informed, reflect on real-world experiences, and integrate new insights into the work I do.

I also draw inspiration from the people around me, the challenges they face, the solutions they create, and the resilience they demonstrate, which constantly reshapes my own thinking and approach.

Ultimately, motivation and relevance come from aligning what I do with my purpose.

By staying connected to the human side of leadership, embracing change, and seeking opportunities to make a meaningful difference, I ensure that my work remains both impactful and timely.

Advice for Future Women Leaders

What advice would you give to aspiring women leaders and professionals?

My advice to aspiring women leaders and professionals is to redefine what leadership means for yourself.

Too often, we try to make everyone around us happy, thinking it’s the key to success. But real leadership comes from authenticity, courage, and the willingness to step into uncertainty, even when it means making tough decisions that won’t please everyone.

From my experience navigating high-pressure situations and leading through complex challenges, I’ve learned that your most powerful growth happens when you trust your instincts, make decisions that align with your values, and focus on creating impact rather than approval.

It’s not about being liked by everyone; it’s about being present, resilient, and intentional in the way you lead.

I also encourage women to lean into their curiosity and their voice.

Ask questions, challenge assumptions, and speak up in spaces where your perspective matters.

Leadership is as much about influence, inspiration, and human connection as it is about strategy or authority, and when you lead with intention, you create ripples that extend far beyond your own role or organization.
